Conceptual portrait: pregnancy

Last week I had a super special assignment: pregnancy photo shoot for a friend. Using battery powered strobe kit Elinchrom Ranger Quadra Head A+B Pro Set and my good old Canon 5DII, we worked to create highly atmospheric pregnancy portrait. The location was actually my home studio in Soldiers Hill, a few days before the renovation. I like working in organic raw spaces and this room had a lot of appeal. The masking tape on the wall you ask? … A couple of days earlier a tradie came to quote for a plastering job..

The concept with a piano accordion was not planned, it simply just happened towards the end of the session. This image is partly an encouragement for me to start playing my beloved instrument after 20 years break!
