This latest State Library of Victoria picture collection exhibition shows a diverse raw glimpse into the lives of rural and regional Victorians following the impactful events of 2020.

Sending warm wishes to the whole Gippsland region, the Howling Huskys team and all the other Gippsland heroes featured in the exhibition.

The many lockdowns since March have made it very difficult to visit the current exhibition at the State Library Victoria. I hope you’ll soon be able to do it and see our images, and read the heartfelt stories shared with us in the aftermath of the 2020 bushfires and lockdowns last year.

“Focus on country Victoria” exhibition features three other photographers: Tiffany Garvie, Fabiana Guerreiro and James Wiltshire. Huge thanks go to the SLV team, and the creative brain behind this amazing project, Photographer, Expedition Leader, Researcher and QCA Adjunct Professor at Griffith University, John Rodsted for their outstanding support.

The exhibition is on show at the State Library Victoria Gallery until 31 January 2022.

Over 350 images were captured during the project for SLV’s Window on Collections, highlighting the importance of the lived experiences of Victorians to the State Collection. A selection of 30 works is now exhibited in Victoria Gallery until 31 January 2022, as well as a tightly focused showcase here.
