We hope this message finds you well on the cusp of yet another silly season.

CMY is pleased to be announcing an exciting new Ballarat project, POP-UP TEA HOUSE “CHAI KHANA”.

We have teamed up with our friends at Big Space and members of Ballarat’s Afghan Hazara community, and will be soft launching this initiative at 3pm on Wednesday 10th December at Big Space, 119a Sturt St.      

This project is based on a simple Afghan-Hazara proverb: “Conversations should never commence until tea is served”. Over the next two weeks we hope to share with you a traditional Afghan Hazara tea experience like no other.  Through this  initiative we aim to create a welcoming space for Ballarat’s  Hazara community and an opportunity for them to share their unique culture with the broader community, as well as providing young people with valuable work experience and pre-employment skills. We hope Chai Khana also sparks new conversations and friendships that showcase and strengthen Ballarat’s rich cultural diversity.

We have prepared an authentic Tea House menu that is sure to please. All proceeds raised from this initiative will go towards supporting further community development projects in Ballarat.
