Street-art practices and traditional printmaking techniques sit side by side in the 37°48’S: artists navigate MELBOURNE exhibition that will be on show in Sofi’s Lounge at Sofitel Melbourne On Collins from February 2 – March 1, 2015.
The large format, limited edition suite of prints created by the 12 artists was previewed in Melbourne in August 2014 before journeying to New York in October, where it was exhibited alongside a complementary body of work created by the New York Society of Etchers.
The combined exhibition highlighted similarities, differences and crosscurrents between the two cities of Melbourne and New York. The exhibition will travel to the Galeria Gravura Brasileira in Sao Paulo, Brazil in March following its Melbourne season at Sofitel.
