Summer Haze brings together four artists whose practices explore summer not as a postcard-perfect season, but as a lived experience shaped by memory, place and climate.
Moving through the familiar rituals of Australian summers, the exhibition evokes long school holidays that feel endless, afternoons by rivers and beaches, hoses dragged across scorched lawns, and the magnetic pull of water as relief. Woven through these moments of nostalgia are quieter, more unsettling reminders of a changing climate and its consequences, asking us to sit with both pleasure and unease.
Featuring works by Carolyn Cardinet, Gala Jane, Aldona Kmieć and Brigita Lastauskaite, Summer Haze invites viewers to reflect on how summer feels, what it holds, and how it is shifting.
