It has been over 10 years since my artist story was featured on The Design Files Australia in 2015. I still remember how honoured and grateful I felt to be included in a space I had admired for so long.
Since moving to Australia in 2009, I have loved reading about artists’ studios – how people live and create, what inspires them, and how their creative practices evolve – especially in regional Victoria, where I was based. Moving to a new country and a regional city meant I didn’t have many connections, so The Design Files was one of the first places I turned to when I wanted to learn more about Australian creatives across the country. Being featured there and meeting Lucy and her team was truly meaningful.
Looking back now I can feel the enthusiasm and hope I had at that time, and I am deeply thankful for the support, interest and encouragement that came from that story and the ones that followed over the years.
