Breckin, which means freckled, is the moniker of Melbourne-based visual artist, poet and singer-songwriter, Heather Marsh. Her debut album, Shiner, is both bruised and brilliant. “It illuminates and holds an oblique mirror to the perennial subject of love and loss in a series of songs that are equal parts elegy, sympathy card and therapy session.”
Late in October 2017, myself and Heather Marsh, Ballan based multimedia artist ventured out to this dilapidated Golden Point house to create a series for Heather’s band Breckin first album called ‘Shiner’. If walls could speak!
“I love the beauty of shining things becoming fragile and gradually being consumed by nature. It reminds me that this is the way we all must go (which sounds morbid but I don’t feel that way about it!). It was a special day doing this photography shoot in this once proud, little abandoned home…”
