The company was established in 1996 by husband and wife team, Sandy Gray and Elizabeth Lewis-Gray in Avoca, Victoria Australia. In addition to its head office in Ballarat Learmonth Road, has offices in Perth, Vancouver, Johannesburg, and Santiago.
The team has a particular interest in developing energy efficient, capital effective flowsheets, equipment, modular plant, and service solutions for gold, coal and polymetallic applications.

Chairman and Managing Director of Gekko Systems, Elizabeth Lewis-Gray, has recently been appointed Chair of the Australian Federal Government’s Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) Growth Centre – METS Ignited Australia Ltd.
Sandy Gray is co-founder and Technical Director of Gekko Systems, and is responsible for the Technical, Sales, and Research and Development teams. He has a background in mine management and over 15 years experience in mineral processing operations.
