Paste-up photography – we’re in editing stage yay!!!
Seven sessions and wow – just have a look! Fun portraits aren’t they! Our group is also growing – we now have Afghani, Australian, Togolese, Chinese, Japanese and Polish participants – we are a very creative multinational, multilingual and multicultural group. Anyone can join us regardless of age, language or culture – this is a community engagement project for everyone in Ballarat.
We R YouĀ is modelled onĀ the globalĀ Inside OutĀ initiative, which isĀ providing a āfaceā for marginalised andĀ disadvantaged people in communitiesĀ around the world.Ā Ā If you havenāt heard ofĀ Inside Out ProjectĀ – please read how much impact it has on engaging communities and building positive connections.
Conceived as a graffiti interventionĀ initiative, BallaratāsĀ We R YouĀ projectĀ will create large (A0 x 2 or A0 x 4) sized, digitalĀ photographic portraits of diverseĀ people who are otherwise āinvisibleāĀ in our community. These portraits will beĀ printed on paper and then pasted inĀ identified graffiti hot-spots around Ballarat.
Next activity today at 4pm – Ā meeting outside the Huyghue House (behind the Art Gallery on Lydiard St) and we’ll be editing images at BLX lab on Camp Street – learning how to use Photoshop etc etc so don’t miss this one!
We’ll also be choosing the best ones to go on the display.Ā See you all later today!…
