Veil

Veil series, a contemplative and meditative body of work, explores femininity through the use of physical movement and long-exposure photography.

I am both the artist and the sitter, a solitary figure, partially veiled. The act of veiling is central to this project, a metaphor for unspoken language and inherited trauma—things passed down but not clearly understood. The veil both conceals and reveals, offering a space of resistance and transformation.

My self-portraits draw deeply from my Polish heritage and historical cultural motifs, such as the Warsaw Nike monument, a symbol of victory and resilience. Veil speaks not only of memory but also of my present life in Australia: the ongoing negotiation between past and future, old and new, a search for meaning within the unfamiliar.
