Neighbourhood Watch

#NeighbourhoodWatch is a street art project for Banyule Council’s Art in Public Spaces Program. The project explores and tests our imagination and memory of familiar places. Through my camera lens, I recorded the architecture of Greensborough streets in a series of tightly cropped frames, pushing the subject and its meaning into almost unrecognisable abstract form.

A documentary close-up perspective of the suburb, these photographs encourage reflection and awareness of the subtleties and intricacies of our surroundings that often go unnoticed. These obscure nooks and overlooked corners form a collection of images that offer an ‘outsider view’ of this North Eastern Melbourne suburb.
