Who doesn’t like Carl…
Pottering around for some domestic shots with my favourite 50mm f1.8 primes…
My sharp Rolleiflex lens came from ebay together with a Rolleiflex SLR camera that served me nearly 4 years until the winding mechanism got jammed.
In August 2011 during the Ballarat International Foto Biennale camera swap market I found people who repair these in Melbourne. only that the cost of the reapir was goign ot be five times the value of the whole camera plus lens. I was just too expensive.
I didn’t want to drop the idea of not using my sharp primes – the quality of the image was simply too stunning. I was looking how to resolve the problem and I finally found an adaptor that goes onto 5D MKII body. You don’t get the electronic connection, so you only do manual exposure and focusing but it works wonders. Check out the results.. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bokeh!!! Very comparable to expensive Canon 85mm f1.2!!! it’s just sth about this old look and outstanding glass quality that works for me.
